Why This Matters
A classroom above 42ยฐC is not a place to learn
Vijayawada regularly sees summer temperatures above 42ยฐC, and community schools with frequent power cuts and no battery backup lose entire afternoons to heat. Depleted groundwater and unmanaged rainfall add a second, quieter strain on the same campuses.
The Challenge
Heat, Power Cuts, Dry Wells: Three community madrasas serving 1,200+ students face poor roof insulation, unreliable grid power and no battery backup, alongside groundwater depletion that rainwater harvesting could directly address.
Our response
Solar, Water, Green Cover: Planned hybrid solar systems with battery backup, rooftop rainwater harvesting, and student-led green campuses across six schools โ designed to run and be maintained locally.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What donors most often ask about our solar, water and green-campus work.
Will the solar system work during a power cut?
Yes. The hybrid inverter can run in off-grid battery mode, sustaining classroom lighting, fans and one air-conditioning unit per site independent of the grid.
Who maintains these systems once installation is complete?
School Institutional Management Committees are trained on maintenance before handover, with a two-year Annual Maintenance Contract covering major servicing.
