Why This Matters
The nearest hospital is often the problem
Non-communicable diseases like hypertension, diabetes and cardiovascular disease go undetected for years in villages far from district hospitals, until a single preventable emergency costs a rural family anywhere from โน30,000 to โน1,00,000 โ money most households don't have.
The Challenge
Care That Doesn't Reach: Fetal echocardiography and maternal cardiac screening remain confined to tertiary hospitals, while rural NCD cases go unmanaged โ a gap that leaves both mothers-to-be and the elderly without timely diagnosis.
Our response
Clinics on Wheels: Sujana Foundation runs mobile medical units and rural NCD clinics staffed by trained teams, dispensing medicine on a two-month cycle and referring critical cases to partner hospitals.

Common Questions
Frequently Asked Questions
What donors and patients most often ask about our mobile health programmes.
Are Health on Wheels camps really free for patients?
Yes. Consultation, diagnostics and dispensed medicines are free at every camp; only a small number of referred cases require a paid procedure at a partner hospital.
How does Sujana Swasthya keep patients on treatment?
Each chronic patient receives a two-month medicine supply timed to the bi-monthly van visit, closing the gap that usually causes treatment to lapse.
