Every camp, class and clinic visit is logged. Here is what that record shows, updated as each programme reports.
Each weekend, a Health on Wheels unit sets up in a different Vijayawada division, carrying ECG, 2D-Echo, X-Ray and blood-testing equipment that most residents have never had access to nearby. A twelve-person medical team runs consultations through the morning, flags cases that need follow-up, and routes them to a partner hospital where needed. Over the past year, this routine has added up to more than 10,000 patients treated and over 300 cataract cases identified and operated — most of them people who had been living with the condition for years before a doctor finally came to them. The unit returns the following weekend, to a different neighbourhood, and the record starts again.
